Become a Land Trust Volunteer

You can help preserve Harwinton’s aesthetic rural qualities and protect its important natural areas by becoming a volunteer of the Land Trust.  Although financial contributions are always greatly appreciated, we also have plenty of work to do.  We’d welcome any help you could give on a variety of activities, including work parties.

Work parties are planned annually in order to maintain and enhance our properties.  Typical work involves clearing trails and vistas, building bridges and boardwalks, planting trees, and posting signs.  Working in the outdoors is enjoyable for both young and old, and is a good way to make new friends who share your environmental values.  Volunteers always leave with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.

You can learn more about what we do at our Annual Meeting.  The public is welcome to attend this meeting held each spring (see our winter newsletter for details).  Hope to see you there!
